ALN Acoustic Design was appointed to provide full acoustic consultancy for this ambitious mixed-use development by Brent Council, delivered in close collaboration with Adam Khan Architects. Spread across five separate buildings, the scheme includes community event spaces, a children’s centre, a nursery, an enterprise hub, and social housing.
A key acoustic challenge was controlling noise breakout from the two newly built event spaces, ensuring they could accommodate a wide range of performances and celebrations without disrupting residents or other users of the development. To achieve this, we worked closely with the design team on the acoustic performance of the building envelope and developed bespoke attenuated ventilation openings that aligned with the project’s passive design principles while maintaining robust sound insulation.
